Now moving from the aquatic environment to the terrestrial, our next speaker is Alan Tomlin, a soil ecologist at the Pest Management Research Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in London, Ontario. He leads a research team that focuses on biological interactions amongst soil organisms, and soil structure and process. Alan chairs the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Mixedwood Plain Ecozone, and he is an adjunct professor at three universities - Georgia, Western Ontario and Guelph. Alan likes to remind everyone who will listen that the soil itself is the largest terrestrial habitat.
